Does the Lord fight with you in your battles?

Does the Lord fight with you in your battles? As a matter of fact – yes. He does.

I was reading in the Old Testament reading this morning – and felt God nudging me to dig deeper into the first verses of Deut 20. This is what came out of that study…

Deuteronomy 20:1, 3-4. This is for all of us here in our health battles.

I hope it blesses you as much as it did me!

Vs 1 – “When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you, who brought you up from the land of Egypt.
Vs 3 – And he shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel: Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies. Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them;
Vs 4 – for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’

Let’s set the stage first –

Horses in the bible are symbolic of power, strength & conquest.
Chariots in the bible are symbolic of power, speed & transport in warfare.
‘See’ in this verse means to see literally or figuratively
“Heart’ here is thinking, understanding or mind.
‘Faint’ is to be timid or fearful.
‘Terrified’ means to cause to tremble, to feel dread, or oppress.
‘He who goes’ is to lead, bring, cause to walk.
‘With you’ is literally with you – or against (your enemies).
‘Your enemies’ is personal or national enemies or adversaries.
‘To save’ is HUGE. This is to be liberated, delivered; bring salvation, to GIVE VICTORY TO.

Most of us in this group are in a battle for our health. And we need to realize as the Israelites needed to – that no matter how it looks – no matter the doctor’s report or how we may feel – that God’s provision is SO much larger than anything that we’re up against. They literally had God with them – AND SO DO WE. Like the Israelites – if we allow fear into this battle – it will cloud our vision.

And this is my Paraphrase of the word study above –
In this battle that you’re facing – Do not look at what you see in a negative way or with your natural eyes. Do not allow your mind to imagine things that would cause you to feel fear or be timid, do not feel dread or tremble because of this battle. It may appear that the battle is huge & that the enemy has powerful weapons that could easily defeat you because of his strength – but that is not your truth. Your Truth is that the LORD will lead you, causing you to walk to the victory that He’s already given you. He is literally with you and against your enemy, the adversary. He has already liberated you – giving you salvation and victory.

We need to remember that the enemy only has the amount of power that we give him. He is a defeated foe – Jesus did that at the cross for us – But He’s given it to us to enforce this victory and walk it out. Unlike the Old Testament followers of God – we have authority that’s been given to us by Jesus to be able to stand and fight our battles. And don’t miss this – we are fighting a spiritual battle in fighting for our health. There was no sickness in the garden… Sin brought the fall & allowed the enemy to afflict us with sickness.

But, praise God that He’s given us every spiritual weapon we will ever need to fight any battle that ever we’ll face. We have His righteousness, His Word, His faith, His armor, His Name, His blood, His authority, His gifts – we have everything that we need!
Believe His Word – the sword of the Spirit. And use it. Cast down vain imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. And know that He is with you and battling right alongside you & leading you to the victory that He’s already won for you in Christ.

Blessings friends ~
