My ways take time.

Jeremiah 6:16 NLT
This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly
way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No,
that’s not the road we want!’

We live in a world where nearly everything is instantaneous. We become slaves to instant
gratification & quick fixes & become frustrated when things take time.
God’s ways are much different. When we look at scripture, there are countless examples of
the Lord taking His time – Abraham was 100 when his promised son was finally born, David had
to wait 15 years after being annointed before he could take the throne. Even Jesus only
began His earthly ministry at 30 years old.

Why all the waiting? God wants us to be established in Him. He knows there’s an enemy ready
to steal, kill & destroy what has been sown into us. So God’s way is to become rooted &
grounded in Him first – in His love, in our identity in Him, in His Word. Becoming established
takes discipline on our part, spending time in the Word, seeking the Lord with all our hearts.

It’s the same in our healing journeys, there are no quick fixes if you want to be completely well &
whole. Sometimes, we hear of an instantaneous miracle & that is wonderful, but that’s not the
norm. Our hearts need to be established in the Truth, our minds need to be renewed & all this
happens in our relationship with our Healer. Any relationship takes time to develop, but the
freedom, wholeness & deliverance that comes is worth every moment spent with our God!

Proverbs 4:25-27 NKJV
“Let your eyes look straight ahead, And your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path
of your feet, And let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; Remove
your foot from evil.”

Colossians 2:6-7 NKJV
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in
Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with
thanksgiving.”

James 1:4 NKJV
“But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
